Mattea

Mattea Wintre is the founder of Jsport.  She graduated from York University with a Kinesiology degree and has always been passionate about using sport and recreation as a vehicle for development. Mattea has pursued her passion and has worked in provincial, national and international sport and recreation for almost a decade, but she has always wanted to develop and implement a sport program in her own community..and so Jsport was born! Mattea also enjoys staying active, biking, jogging, playing tennis, beach volleyball and going for walks with her new baby!

 

 

Steve

Steven Indig graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Recreation degree and a successful five-year career as a varsity athlete in swimming.  Steve competed in  three University National Championships, was named the University athlete of the month and competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials.  He continues to be involved in swimming as a master’s swimmer and coach.  After Dalhousie, Steve received his degree in law from the University of Windsor and is the managing director of the Sport Law and Strategy Group.  Steve was inducted into the Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.Steve continues to be involved in sport as a volunteer coach, referee, and an avid basketball player; recently returning from the 2011 Maccabi Games in Brazil where his team won a silver in basketball.  Steve is also the proud father of a new born baby son.
